Kyoko Nobi
Nobi, the founder of CNC ( Contemporary Natyam Company
) is renowned both for her academic work as a psychologist, as well
as being a highly gifted dance performance artist. She is arguably
one of the most famous Japanese Masala-Otaku celebrities, and having
done much to promote and popularize the culture. She has published
"Masala movie Monogatari ( Masala Movie Story ).

早稲田大学大学院文学研究科心理学専攻博士課程終了後、日本医学院歯科衛生士専門学校、お茶の水医療秘書専門学校、江戸川大学総合福祉専門学校(在籍)、帝京平成大学付属専門学校(在籍)各心理学非常勤講師、私立長谷川病院精神科ダンスセラピストを経る。舞踊では、日本舞踊を坂東鈴三靖氏、モダンダンスを芙二三枝子氏、スペイン舞踊を岸清子氏、ジャズダンスをカンノアカデミー、また専門のインド舞踊をシャクティ、スチトラ・ミトラ、スジャータ・スリニヴァサン、ウマ・ラオ(下記参照)各氏に師事。現在、インド舞踊団・教室「コンテンポラリー・ナティヤム・カンパニー」を主宰。3回のインド公演を含む公演多数、テレビ、コマーシャルの出演振り付けなど多数。
Career History
After graduating in B.A. Home Economics
(Japan Women's University) , she completed M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology
(Waseda University).
Upon completing her doctorate, she became a part-time lecturer in
psychology for Japan Medical and Dental College.
Nobi then went on to found the Contemporary Natayam Company in 1985
In the late 80s, drawing upon her
performance skills and academic expertise, Nobi gained further renown
through her work as a dance-therapist for Hasegawa Mental Hospital.
As a result of her outstanding calligraphy/performance career, Nobi
has been in demand as a dance instructor, training many famous dancers
such as Suzumiyasu Bandou of Nihon Buyou in 60's, though Modern
dance to Ms.Mieko Fuji in 70's, Spanish dance.
Today, Nobi is still the heart of the Indian calligraphy school,
"CNC" and frequently tours India, doing collaborative
performances with local dance teams. Nobi is not onlya shining light
in the theatre and educational world; she often appears on TV, notably
as a calligrapher for in television advertisements. |
